Nick Kyrgios‘s encounter with controversies seems to be non-ending. He always had been targeted due to his on-court antics. At the finals of Wimbledon, he walked up to the chair umpire urging him to remove a female spectator from the audience stating she is totally drunk. He even broke the dress code rules when he wore a red cap at the award presentation ceremony after the finals.

Apart from his on-court antics, he hit rock bottom in his personal life when he was issued a summon from the court after his ex-girlfriend accused him of abusing her. He had even refused to comment on this matter during the post-match interview after the finals stating that his lawyers had asked him not to any sort of comments as it is a pending matter and the court will decide.

The charge relates to an incident in January 2021 and he was initially expected to face the Australian Capital Territory Magistrates Court on 2nd August 2022 and his participation at the Northern American swing was in jeopardy. But he received a piece of good news when the court officials announced about his court date getting an extension of three weeks and he might not be required to attend that court session if he is legally represented. Canberra solicitor Michael Kukulies-Smith is now acting on Kyrgios’ behalf.

Kyrgios is scheduled to play at the Cincinnati Open in Ohio in mid-August before the US Open begins in New York on August 29.
