“If you don’t like, don’t come,” Patrick Mouratoglou lashes out at fans who booed Novak Djokovic at the French Open

Novak Djokovic and Patrick Mouratoglou
Novak Djokovic had one of the most dramatic entrances into the court at Roland Garros 2022. As the crowd booed at him and at the same time cheered for him as he entered the court for his fourth-round match against the Argentine Diego Schwartzman.
Patrick Mouratoglou came out in support of the world No.1 and said, “It makes no sense to whistle Djokovic. If we don’t like it, we have the right not to come, it’s allowed”
He is right because considering Djokovic’s nature on court and his performances in the last couple of months there was no reason for the crowd to attack at him before such an important match.
Djokovic has been a controversial figure in tennis from the beginning of his career and he has faced his fair share of criticism throughout his career but booing at him for no apparent reason was astonishing.
One of the greatest tennis coaches of all time Patrick Mouratoglou was on the set of France TV and he came to support the Serbian and called out the fans who had the audacity to boo at the world No.1

“It makes no sense to whistle at Novak Djokovic” Patrick Mouratoglou infuriated with crowds behaviour

Patrick Mouratoglou flies to the aid of Novak Djokovic, as the Serbian got booed by part of the public while entering the Suzanne-Lenglen for his fourth-round match against Diego Schwartzman.
The French coach joined in with Alex Corretja in criticising the French crowd for unnecessarily booing at the defending champion of the French Open and the world’s No.1 player.
Patrick said, “It makes no sense to whistle Djokovic. If we don’t like it, we have the right not to come, it’s allowed. But when we come to watch the game, we have to appreciate these exceptional athletes, the spectacle they give us and encourage them. It’s the minimum. But hey, it’s probably the same ones who, on social networks, insult people for free“.
