‘Iga Swiatek and Stefanos Tsitsipas to win French Open’: Michael Llodra

Iga Swiatek and Stefanos Tsitsiapas
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Iga Swiatek are definitely the favorites to win the seasons. To start with, the runner-up of the Roland Garros in 2021 Tsitsipas successfully defended his title in the Monte Carlo Master to make it twice in a row. But lost in the quarterfinals to teen sensation Carlos Alcaraz at Barcelona Open.
As for Iga Swiatek, 2022 could not have been a better year as she swept up all the titles that she played for including three WTA 1000 titles, Miami Open, Doha Open, and Indian Wells, followed by Stuttgart Open. The 2020 French Open champion is currently on a 23-match winning streak. The way she played last season, definitely clay is her favorite surface and we can see her best performance at Roland Garros 2022.
Both these young and sensational players have showcased their skills in the absence of Rafael Nadal and Djokovic and Ash Barty respectively. Although the competition is challenging for both of them, they are eagerly cheered by the audience and their performance is eagerly watched by fans and the tennis community alike.
Stefanos Tsitsipas and Iga Swiatek’s journey so far and ahead

Stefanos Tsitsipas is a breath of fresh air and is the new generation to be watched for. The Greek has successfully managed to defend his title in the Monte Carlo Masters thereby earning the title twice. After that success, his performance is eagerly awaited in the Madrid Open and Rome.
The absence of Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic has clearly been used to the advantage by this Greek who is aiming to move forward. Michael Llodra, the doubles tennis star said, “He is one of the players who have experience, who have not yet won a Grand Slam tournament but who are not far from it.” Patrick Mouratoglou, the coach of Simona Halep said, “A priori, he should arrive in form at Roland. He did what was necessary by winning the Monte-Carlo tournament, like last year by the way. We know that clay is a very good surface for him.”
Does anything need to be said for Iga Swiatek? World no. 1 has let the results speak for themselves. The Polish star has won the Doha, Indian Wells, Miami, and Stuttgart open, all in 2 months with 23 continuous victories. Justine Henin said, “A lot will still happen with the preparation tournaments between now and Roland, but I think we have a beautiful world number 1 among girls today. Swiatek is taking on her new status rather well”,
Michael Llodra said, “The withdrawal of Ashleigh Barty has given way to other players. We feel that we are at a crossroads where a lot of players can extricate themselves and create, perhaps the sensation.” A few of them in the line of competition are world no. 2 Paula Badosa, Barbara Krejcikova, and Aryna Sabalenka to name a few.
Looks like our favorites are going to get some good competition which will need them to prove themselves and show the fans why they are indeed the favorites.
