Iga Swiatek was the center of attraction at the WTA Finals gala as she stood out for choosing to wear a bright red outfit at the event, while the other contenders wore an all-white outfit.
Tennis fans all over could not control their amusement at this and many took to social media to troll the 3-time French Open champion for not wearing a white dress like the rest who attended the event. Many went to the extent of stating that the Polish completely ruined a good photograph.
Many fans took to social media to make fun of Iga Swiatek’s choice of outfit for the event. One of the posts also stated, ” Why is Iga wearing red in an obvious white photo shoot?! Completely ruined the picture!” While many also complimented the World No.2 on choosing to stay different and unique, many others made fun of her and made jokes about her saying that she did not receive the memo for the gala.
The Gala took place on the 27th of October in Cancun, Mexico before the start of the much-awaited WTA Finals. Iga Swiatek will look to reclaim her No.1 position by the end of this tournament.

The WTA Finals, scheduled to start on the 29th of October has released its draws for the tournament. The top two seeds, Aryna Sabalenka and Iga Swiatek are in different groups. The two will only meet in the semis or the finals of the tournament. The group led by Sabalenka group consists of Elena Ryabakina, Jessica Pegula, Maria Sakkari who will be competing in the round-robin format.
Similarly, the group led by Swiatek group consists of Coco Gauff, Ons Jabeur, and Marketa Vondrousova. While many fans defended Iga Swiatek for her outfit, many others made fun of her for choosing to wear red at the gala. Here are some of the reactions of the fans:
