In an interview with ‘Tennis Magazin’, a German magazine, Iga Swiatek opened up about the negative side of becoming the World No.1. She revealed that it was impossible for her to go to places anymore.
Iga Swiatek has spent 75 weeks the the top of the ranking table. While this position has its perks on the court, the Pole revealed that it does have its downsides when she is just another person trying to go somewhere. With 4 Grand Slam titles to her name at just 22 years old, the Pole has already registered her name with an elite list of players. However, she has explained the negative effects she needs to face on account of her various accolades.
“People recognize me almost everywhere. It’s difficult for me to live in peace and quiet,” she said. She also revealed that it was very difficult for her to comprehend the level of success she has achieved in her career so far. The Pole said that she needed someone to often times remind her that she has indeed seen an incredible amount of success. She also revealed that she quite often needed someone to tell her that she deserves to feel proud of herself and her career.
Iga Swiatek has indeed proven that she has earned the right to feel pride over her illustrious career. In a sport where many retire without ever winning a Grand Slam title, she has managed to do so, not once, not twice but four times, beating the hardest of foes. She has taken her game to another level, where she remains almost indestructible. However, Swiatek was defeated by Jelena Ostapenko in the fourth round of the US Open.

Iga Swiatek reveals that she has not yet tried much more exhilarating sports like surfing and skiing
The Pole has one of the most colorful careers in tennis history. However, she has revealed that she has not yet tried her hand at sports where people go for the adrenaline rush. While the four-time Grand Slam champion has yet to try such sports as surfing and skiing, she has revealed that she intends to do so.
“I’ve unfortunately never had a chance to learn a sport like surfing properly,” said the former World No.1. She revealed that the main reason for not trying out these new things was her hectic schedule as a tennis player.
Swiatek admitted that the first lessons were always hard. “I once had a couple of hours of surfing instruction, but the first lessons are always difficult. You fall into the water, get back onto the board and fall back into the water. It’s all a part of the game,” she said.
