In a recently held press conference before the upcoming US Open, Iga Swiatek expressed her disappointment at the WTA for not revealing where the year-end Finals will take place.
The World No. 1, who played her latest match against Coco Gauff in the Semi-finals at Cincinnati this year, likes to plan things in advance. The 22-year-old is quite vocal and has often expressed her disappointment with WTA regarding several issues in the past as well.
“It’s pretty unfortunate and annoying we don’t have any decision yet. When we were in Fort Worth, they kind of assured us that the decision is going to be made at the beginning of the year,” the World No. 1 revealed ahead of the last Grand Slam this year at the Flushing Meadows.
Swiatek further revealed that she plans to play in the Billie Jean King Cup Finals after her country, Poland, got a wild-card entry. She revealed that she can’t really plan without knowing what will happen with the WTA Finals and that all this is very frustrating. Little information about where the Finals will take place and what her schedule will look like is annoying for the tennis player.
Iga Swiatek prepares for title defense

As we are just mere days away from the beginning of the 2023 US Open, the tennis world is abuzz with excitement. The former Grand Slam champ at the 2022 US Open, Iga Swiatek, is getting ready for her title defense.
Despite being in exceptional form this year, there is growing uncertainty about the Polish player’s ability to defend her title. This skepticism has arisen following her recent loss to Coco Gauff in the semi-finals of the Cincinnati tournament, a defeat that has left many questioning her chances.
The former tennis player, Alex Corretja, recently revealed his biases. “She can’t just go and win every tournament. That’s almost impossible,” said the Spaniard. He expressed a strong belief that if Swiatek can bring her best to the USA, she has a genuine chance of securing the title at the 2023 US Open as well.
