Swiatek will obviously now face the winner of the other semifinal between Coco Gauff and Maria Sakkari in the final of the tournament. Oh my god. There’s no preference. It would be stupid for me to say anything. Both of these players are really great and experienced, so, yeah and they are going to fight today, and they are going to fight in the finals no matter who's gonna be there. So, it's gonna be tough anyway.
Swiatek said in her on-court interview

Iga Swiatek has had a sensational run in the 2024 Indian Wells so far. She did not lose a single set in the entire tournament so far and maintained that in the semifinal against Kostyuk as well. In fact, she also has three bagels in the tournament so far, which she got against Danielle Collins, Linda Noskova, and Caroline Wozniacki.

The Pole was not off to a great start to her 2024 season after she got eliminated from the third round of the Australian Open, her first tournament of the tour, by Linda Noskova. However, she redeemed herself in the Qatar Open by winning the title. She defeated Elena Rybakina to win the WTA 1000 event. The World No. 1 will now look to win her second title of the year by winning the Indian Wells final.

Iga Swiatek completes 300 career wins after defeating Marta Kostyuk

Swiatek has broken a number of records after winning the first semifinal of the 2024 Indian Wells against Marta Kostyuk. Firstly, this is her 300th career win, which is a special achievement, especially considering the fact that the Polish is still only 22 years old. Moreover, she now leads the list of WTA players with the most matches won on tour (19) in 2024.

Previously, this record was held by Emma Navarro. However, she lost to Maria Sakkari in the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells and that gave Swiatek the chance to overtake her in total wins in 2024, which she successfully did.

She now has to keep her momentum going in the final as well. Winning the Indian Wells title will solidify her lead over Aryna Sabalenka at the top of the WTA rankings, which will more or less ensure her World No. 1 rank till the French Open.
