With the release of the entry list for the National Bank Open, there are many big names on the entry list who will be participating in the tournament including last year’s winner Camila Giorgi from Italy. The tournament starts on 8th August and will have the finals on 14th August with the event taking place in Toronto this year.

The return of Serena Williams to the tournament will get some heads to be turned as well, as she is all set to play her first North American hard-court tournament in two years, the last time Williams played there was in 2019, and fans sure are excited for her return to Canada. The entry list for the tournament includes the whole top 10 players of the WTA which promises to make for some exciting matches.

The National Bank Open is set to have some amazing matches as the entry list includes so many big names from the WTA, it will not be easy for defending champion Giorgi as she will have to face the best of the best to defend the title. Along with names like Serena, Iga Swiatek and Emma Raducanu, the list also includes the 2022 Wimbledon winner Elena Rybakina and the finalist of the tournament Ons Jabeur as well.

Karl Hale, Tournament Director of the National Bank Open in Toronto said, “When you read over that star-studded list, it’s hard not to get excited about the WTA Tour making its return to Sobeys Stadium, not only is this one of the strongest, if not the strongest, player list we’ve ever submitted, but it’s also the first time since 2019 that the National Bank Open returns to full capacity.

“We’re thrilled that these players will have a chance to play in front of a packed house, and we’re even happier for our fans who will get to watch tennis’ very best at the 2022 edition of the National Bank Open,” added Hale.
