Iga Swiatek calls out netizens for their online hatred and harassment. She spoke up about the controversial sequence in Netflix’s documentary series ‘Break Point‘. Daria Abramowicz, the World No. 1’s psychologist, received a lot of flak for the infamous “haircut scene.” Instead of the pole responding when she was asked how she preferred her hair to be, her psychologist responded. This alarmed many followers, who expressed their worries on social media.

Swiatek remarked that she didn’t want to give up her hair for tennis. They perceived the psychologist’s constant companionship with her as strange. Another topic of discussion was whether Abramowicz had such control over the 22-year-old actress that she even dictated the smallest details of her life.

Swiatek finally addressed the situation at the Cincinnati Open’s post-match press conference. The top-seeded tennis player defended her psychologist and said that she had once discussed her hair with her psychologist, and therefore she was just reminding Swiatek of their conversation. She also shared that the scene was edited in a way that made it seem controversial.

She said, “We already kind of spoke to Netflix about these things. I wish it could be done a bit differently. When we watched before the premiere, we couldn’t have any influence on how they edited some stuff.” It is the ninth episode of the documentary series that follows Iga Swiatek’s life. It was recorded during the US Open in 2022.

Recently, Swiatek has been very vocal about the hate she receives for being in the spotlight. She reflected on how she got hate even after winning a final just because she dropped a set. She talked about how she tries to ignore it, but it is impossible as she posts regularly.

She was quoted as saying, “I want to encourage people to be more thoughtful when they comment on the internet. It would be great if you guys [journalists] would kind of help us make it happen because we all sacrifice a lot, and we are all working really hard to be in that place.”
