World No.2 Ons Jabeur left an emotional message to her fans after an early exit from the Australian Open 2023. She was extremely hurt and disappointed with her early loss and thanked her fans for their support. She also confirmed that she will be back soon, a lot stronger.

Ons joins the list of top seeds who were knocked out of the tournament early. The list comprises Rafael Nadal, Casper Ruud, Taylor Fritz, Matteo Berrettini, etc. She lost in the second round of the Major in a three-setter against Markéta Vondroušová 1-6, 7-5, 1-6.

After the match, she did not attend the press conference. She was gutted by the result and hence did not speak with anyone post the match. However, she took to Instagram and Twitter and expressed her thoughts with a heavy heart.

Ons was seen struggling throughout the tournament with a knee injury. She was unable to control the game like she used to do. This hampered her game altogether and resulted in an early exit. The Tunisian even spoke about stiffness in muscles and how she needs a massage from her husband in the post-match interview after the first round.

However, Ons is confident of her recovery and assured her fans that she will keep fighting and come back stronger. Fans wished her a speedy recovery and showered her with praise for all her contribution to the sport.

Ons Jabeur crashes out of the Australian Open 2023

The second seed, Ons Jabeur had a mediocre match in terms of her ability against Marketa Vondrousova. The 86th ranker dominated the whole match and had answers to all the shots of Ons. The match ended in less than two hours in which, Marketa broke the Tunisian’s serve seven times. Ons committed 50 unforced errors for which she had to pay the price.

However, she fought back, winning the second set only to end up losing the third in seven games. It was a disappointing performance and fans were shocked to see another big seed biting the dust. Nevertheless, fans are proud of her and they are confident that she will return much stronger.
