Serena Williams is one of the most renowned and established names in the world tennis circle. She has won 39 Grand Slam titles: 23 in singles, 14 in women’s doubles, and 2 in mixed doubles. In 2002-03 and 2014—15, she achieved the rare feat of holding all four Grand Slam titles. The American is the only player in tennis to have 23 grand slam titles in the singles category in the Open Era.

The six-time US Open champion is set to play in this year’s US Open which will begin on 29th August. Serena looked exceptional in recent years at the tournament, having reached the final twice in 2018 & 2019, and the semi-finals in 2020. She is been in a grand slam trophy drought since 2017 when she won at the Australian Open. The former world no.1 will now look to end the drought in her home tournament.

Recently, the 40-year-old went sightseeing in the capital where she visited the famous monument with the Citi Open chairman and a well-known businessman, Mark Ein who also posted pictures with her at the Washington Monument with the caption, “Always love showing the tourists around my town.” From the pictures shared by Mark Ein, it looks like both of them share a good bond.

Another example of their friendship can be taken from Serena’s recent Instagram post where she pranked Ein at Rock Creek Park Tennis Center. The parking space which is allotted for Ein with his name written on it was replaced by Serena with a handwritten note that reads “Parking for Serena Williams. The former world no.1 posted the picture along with a caption, “Only those closest to me know that I’m a little mischievous. Zoom in…and must slide right. @markdein1 @cityopen,”

Ein made a video to show everyone what she did and joked about how she “made herself too much at home.” He also said, “You know how sometimes your friends come to town and they kind of make themselves a little too much at home. Well, this is taking it to a whole new level. Wow.”
