“I’m going to move forward,” Dominic Thiem grips cognizance after first-round loss at US Open 2022

Witnessing a huge upset at the US Open first round earlier today, 2020 champion Dominic Thiem was surprisingly knocked out of the tournament, shattering fans’ high hopes of his comeback in the sport after his game being held down for quite some time now.
The Austrian was sent packing by Pablo Carreno Busta of Spain with a final score of 7-5, 6-1, 5-7, 6-3. After facing a humiliating loss as such, Thiem went on to acknowledge his position quoting “everyone who thought I was the favorite today was far from reality,” gripping towards his admission to realize that he needs to improve drastically ultimately turning the crowd in favor of him.

Dominic Thiem, who held the US Open title back in 2020, beating Alexander Zverev coming from two sets down is still making his firm feet returning to the game after suffering a wrist injury at the Mallorca Open 2021, ultimately being ruled of the entire 2021 season entirely. During the post-match press conference, the Austrian took recognition of Pablo Busta’s game saying, “I think he wasn’t bad at all the whole game. It’s probably the best game since Paris in terms of intensity and shots. There are a lot of good things to take away from this game.“
Although Busta ended Dominic’s run at the US Open, the Austrian went on to praise the Spaniard’s game and current form quoting “Pablo is having a great season. He won Montreal. He was twice a semi-finalist here. I’m just still in the process of returning. I’m going to take a lot of good things from today and I’m going to move forward,” concluding the second highest ranking Austrians’ run at the New York courts.
The Flushing Meadows championship which started earlier today features top-ranking professionals namely Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams who are currently viewed as crowd favorites and ramming individuals like Nick Kyrgios who are expected to run the crowd ablaze their predicted performances.
