Emma Raducanu has decided to change her coach again. She said that she decided to break from her coach after training with him for 6 months. The US Open champion has frequently changed her coaches in a short span of time. Torben Beltz, best known for coaching German player Angelique Kerber. The British player has once again spilt in a short span of time.

Prior to Beltz, the 19-year-old worked with Nigel Sears and reached the fourth round of Wimbledon. She worked with Andrew Richardson for her win in her US Open Grand Slam. For the time being the teenager wants to focus on a playing style that focuses on playing mock matches with the opponent.

On asking for comments about the split Raducanu said, “Torben is a great guy. I really enjoyed my time with him on and off the court. He is one of the nicest people I’ve met so obviously it was a tough one to split with someone like that. I think Torben has been great for me because when I wanted someone with tour experience, I think for my first six months on the tour, it was very valuable. But I feel like right now I’m very comfortable with my current training. I’m feeling very confident in what I’m doing and how I’m working.”

What are Emma Raducanu’s plans for the future?

A month before the French Open and splitting up with her coach is bound to make any player anxious. But the US Open champion is not too worried. “It is becoming more apparent to me as I spend more time on the tour is just getting used to these girls’ ball speed. I like to mix it up. I like to work very specifically and I’m very clear on what I want to work on. A lot of the time those ideas come from me,” said Raducanu.

Till the time permanent hiring is done, the US Open champion will be helped by the head of women’s tennis Iain Bates and the Lawn Tennis Association.
