“I’m very expensive” Rafael Nadal jokingly agrees to coach Grigor Dimitrov post-retirement as the two interacted with fans
Rafael Nadal, Grigor Dimitrov
Rafael Nadal and Grigor Dimitrov are currently in London and getting ready for Wimbledon 2022. But before the battle for the Championships begin, they were involved in a fun session on a platform called FanJolt, where celebrities can connect with each other and interact with fans together from around the world. The two talked about a variety of topics as they enjoyed the time with fans.
Dimitrov came up with an interesting situation for Rafa and tried to touch upon his avenues post-retirement. He asked, “Okay, how about this? Hypothetically, you’re done with your career, let’s say in ten years. I will call you and say, ‘Rafa, can you come with me for three clay-court tournaments.” Nadal was very amused by this question and his answer was even better. He said, “I’m very expensive, man” and both of them broke into laughter.
Rafael Nadal and Grigor Dimitrov talked about their interests in winter sports.
The two also talked about winter sports, but the transition to winter sports was also quite entertaining as Dimitrov began the proceedings by asking about different sports Rafa tried including hockey and skating. He asked: “Have you ever played hockey? Can you skate?”
Nadal replied: “I never played hockey. We don’t have ice in Mallorca. I never tried snowboarding. I tried skiing. I went when I was younger. As a kid, I went skiing every year at least once for one week. But at the age of 14-15, I had to stop when I started to become a bit more professional tennis player. Do you like skiing?”
Though Dimitrov confessed to being a fan of snowboarding, he also revealed that he didn’t know skiing. He said: “I wish I skied. I never skied, but I like snowboarding a lot .” Though he wishes to learn skiing he felt it was not for now as he too is more focused on his career. Rafa also revealed how many of his friends went skiing and they always came back with one problem or the other, so seems like a wise decision from Dimitrov.
