In bizarre circumstances, Guadalajara Open gets delayed as the chair umpire’s seat gets stormed by bees

WTA Guadalajara Open delayed due to bee's swarming
Nature has many ways to surprise us. In past, there have been incidents where some animal has intruded on the pitch and interrupted the match. In such incidents, no harm has ever been done to anyone but has amused us.
In a recent incident, a swarm of bees took the umpire’s chair at the ongoing Guadalajara Open Round of 64 match between Petra Kvitová and Bernarda Pera. Due to this reason, rather than players, a beekeeper walked onto the court to remove the swarm of bees.
The swarm of bees was able to take over a portion of the umpire’s chair in the less than two hours that elapsed between the conclusion of the day session and the anticipated start of the night session.
Guadalajara Open is underway

After all, the bees were successfully captured, and after a delay of more than 90 minutes, both the players, the umpire, and the fans took their places and packed the stadium. It was a bizarre incident. Even Guadalajara Open’s official Twitter handle tweeted: “Bee-right back,” and a photograph showing the huge size of the swarm.
Former English tennis player Melanie South was clearly in a cheerful mood as she was in the stadium waiting for the game to start. She tweeted: “Bees have taken over the umpires chair here in Guadalajara got to be a first for reasons your match is delayed #kvitova vs #pera.”
As the beekeeper came to the court to remove bees from the umpire’s chair, she clicked the photo and shared the picture with a caption: “Save the bees.”
This is the first time the WTA 1000 tournament has been organized in this part of Mexico. The matches will be played on outdoor hard courts. The tournaments will host both the women’s singles event and the women’s doubles event. The Guadalajara Open is expected to attract fans in huge numbers across the world as top players are participating in this tournament.
In the Round of 64 match, the Czech Petra Kvitová defeated the American Bernarda Pera 6-3 7-5 in straight sets, thus qualifying for the next round.
