“Is that Novak Djokovic?” Tennis fans hilariously speculate whether the Serbian maestro is West Ham’s new signing

Novak Djokovic is one of the all-time tennis greats and just a few weeks ago, won his 21st major title at Wimbledon. After this, many fans on social media now are hilariously claiming that the Serb is switching sports from tennis to football. To give context, English Premier League Club, West Ham United, posted a silhouette image of a player to tease their latest signing.

The social media handle of West Ham asked the fans to guess their pre-season signing by posting a silhouette image. While many fans guessed the latest signing currently, some cheekily speculated that the silhouette image was of Novak Djokovic. The actual image was of Italy’s Gianluca Scamacca, who signed a 5-year deal with The Hammers.

When looked closely, the silhouette image very much resembles Djokovic and fans couldn’t hold their thoughts and started bombarding West Ham’s social media handle.

Due to his unvaccinated status, Djokovic isn’t allowed to enter the USA and Canada as of now and hence is likely to miss the North-American hard court swing. This means that he will miss the next three big tournaments on the ATP Tour- Canada Masters, Cincinnati Masters, and the US Open.

As scheduled, he will directly be seen playing in the Laver Cup. He will then end the season by playing two ATP 500s tournaments in Tokyo and Vienna, and will also play the Paris Masters followed by the ATP Finals. Ahead of the Laver Cup, Djokovic could also be seen playing in the Davis Cup but his participation is yet to be confirmed.
