“It feels like the year has been so long!” Felix Auger Aliassime reflects back on his journey to get back his rhythm and glory

Felix Auger-Aliassime
Life is a rollercoaster and no one can explain that better than Canadian player Felix Auger Aliassime. The 21-year-old had a great start in the year by reaching the quarter-finals of the Australian Open and was this close to winning the semi-finals but lost to Daniil Medvedev after a valiant fight. The Canadian then won his first title in Rotterdam and looked steady and confident to win the next title. But an injury derailed his career to a stopping point.
He then went on to lose in his first match in the Indian Wells and the Miami Open. What made it worse was that his rival Carlos Alcaraz had gone on to win three titles this year alone- The Rio Open, The Miami Open, and the Barcelona Open, and not to mention he is one of the heavy favorites to win the French Open. However, the world no. 10 need not worry too much as he is the top seed in the tournament in the Estoril Open and gear up in time for the Madrid Open, Rome Masters, and of course the Roland Garros.
Felix Auger Aliassime jots doen his plan

The Canadian is currently going to play the quarter-finals against 21-year-old Sebastian Korda in the Estoril Open. Aliasimme is a clear favorite in the match as clay is definitely not Korda’s best surface. World no. 10 can start his march to victory by first claiming the Estoril title to prepare for the upcoming matches. After his most recent match against Carlos Taberner, the Canadian said, “I was one of the best players of the year for the first two months and then had a couple of bad months, some bad losses. It feels like the year has been so long!”
The Estoril Open will also have Monte Carlo Masters runner-up Alejandro Davidovich Fokina and Richard Gasquet to name a few, so the world no. 10 will have to power his way through all these opponents if he wants to win his first ATP 250 title and his first title on clay. we feel that the Canadian has the ability to win the Estoril Open and finally get back into his groove like he always wanted.
