“It is time to stop,” Simona Halep opens up about her career redundancies and fruitful relationship with coach Patrick Mouratoglou

Former world No. 1 Simona Halep although hasn’t been able to produce much on her 2022 tour but has somehow managed to break the news multiple times in a month now. For the past few months, the Wimbledon championship has been working with her new coach Patrick Mouratoglou and reportedly is in awe of his contributions to her tour so far.
The Romanian due to difficulties with her nose recently went through a nose surgery which has ultimately caused her to halt her 2022 season completely. In a recent tweet, Halep expressed her feelings and the challenges she’s faced in the past year. In her brief statement, she quoted saying “I was going through many anxious moments and I thought it is time to stop cause it is emotionally unhealthy.”

Simona Halep, the Romanian who won the French Open in 2018 which much zeal and enthusiasm, according to her statement lost the efficiency to keep herself pushing for more and retaining her position at the WTA ranking some time back. “I always share with you my deep feelings. In February I was very close to stopping playing tennis because I didn’t believe I have enough power to come back into the top 10.
Then I was lucky to find Patrick’s academy where I found so much passion that it gave me back my passion for tennis. I slowly started to believe I can still play a good level of tennis. I was open to everything he told me to do, the way I should do it, and the amount of work I should do. I did everything fully. I trust Patrick 100%,” quoted the 30-year-old while talking about her newly formed and fruitful bearing relationship with the Frenchman.
Providing fans with more insight into her discussions and time spent with coach Patrick Mouratoglou both on and off the court, she said “I always put pressure on myself, and having the best coach next to me it felt even more pressure to win and do well. This ended up with a panic attack during my match in Paris. I felt Roland Garros that I have to play great because of all the work I’ve done. I couldn’t handle the pressure and broke down. I told Patrick I need to relax because I can’t play with the pressure I put on myself and asked him to be patient with me for the next 6 months. No expectations. He listened to me, agreed and he supported me 100%.”
Halep also talked about her recent endeavor at the US Open, which burnt out when the seventh seed lost her first round to Daria Snigur, where she provided fans with her input saying “I lost at the US Open, I realized that I’m completely exhausted mentally. Having problems with breathing for many years already and becoming worse with time, I decided to follow the advice of my doctors and do the needed surgery.”
Expressing her feelings after recently getting operating on her nose, the currently ranked world No. 9 owns up to the fact that she said never quite liked her nose which low-key heeded her in the way of getting the surgery as well quoting “ I felt it’s the right time to do it and also do something for myself as a person. That is why I also did the aesthetic part, which I wanted to do for a long time as I did not like my nose at all. So I did it and solved the functional part and the aesthetic part. I know many of you can understand me.”
The Romanian is now recovering well from the surgery which needs a resting period of at least 3 months. She concluded her post by saying her season for this year is likely over owing to her stance on recovery. “My 2022 season is over. 2022, you have been an interesting year full of everything! See you on-court, 2023!” quoted an enthusiastic Simona looking forward to making her come back to professional tennis next year.
