Alejandro Tabilo, the 25-year-old Chilean is all set to face off against one of the greatest players of all time Rafael Nadal in November as part of Nadal’s South America tour, Tabilo is having an excellent 2022 and it just keeps getting better as he gets to play against his idol Nadal in an exhibition match in Chile.
This will be Nadal’s first visit to Chile since 2013 when he played there with Novak Djokovic and Nicolás Massú, the venue of the exhibition match is yet to be decided but the Sausalito Stadium in Viña del Mar, San Carlos de Apoquindo, and Santa Laura are the places that will most likely be chosen as the venue for the match.

Tabilo has enjoyed a good season so far, breaking into the top 100 in the world rankings, he is currently ranked number 68 in the world and reached his first ATP-level final at the Cordoba Open, the 25-year-old has been steadily climbing the ranks, he is yet to play in the main draw of the US Open and the French Open.
Talking about playing with Nadal at the exhibition match, Tabilo said, “For me it is incredible. Since I was little I have always tried to do everything like [Rafael] Nadal; he is my idol and playing with him in Chile is a dream, it will be unforgettable. So to have this opportunity to exhibit here with him makes me very happy. When they first named it to me, I didn’t think much of it. It took me a while to react and already, a week ago, when they confirmed me, I couldn’t believe it. Guille (Gómez) called me on the phone and was happy.
“My eyes widened with happiness. When I just told them(his family), they couldn’t believe it. As it came out of nowhere, and these things always take time to materialize and they also know what this means to me and all the effort, so for them it is also very special,” added Tabilo.
Nadal will be visiting Chile as part of his South America tour and the Spaniard will also visit countries like Brazil, Colombia, Argentina and Ecuador as part of his tour as well.
