Currently competing at the Canadian Open in Toronto, Iga Swiatek made quick work of her opponent Ajla Tomljanovic in the round of 32 fixture of the tournament. Competing at the Canadian Open currently, Iga Swiatek breezed past Ajla Tomljanovic as she beat the Australian professional by 6-1, 6-2 in the round of 32 fixture of the event. The world number 1 shows no signs of slowing down and she will be looking to continue her hot blazing form in future rounds. The win against Tomljanovic is Swiatek’s 19th straight on hard courts this season, breaking Tomljanovic’s serves six times throughout the match, Swiatek maintained her dominance and did not give the Australian a chance.

Talking about her victory, in her post-match interview, Swiatek said, “I’m pretty happy that I could actually just play my game. It was the first match so it’s never easy, but I feel like I found my rhythm and it was a pretty solid performance. From the first practice I played here I felt really good. And even though there was jet lag and I was coming back from clay I felt like I was in a good place.

Progressing to the round of 16 stages of the tournament, Iga Swiatek will be going up against Brazilian professional Beatriz Haddad Maia who defeated Leylah Fernandez in the last round in a thrilling encounter. Swiatek is expected to emerge victorious in this round as well as she is one of the favorites to win the tournament.
