Whether it be Wimbledon or the US Open, John McEnroe never disappointed whether that be through his antics on the court or through his statements off of it, despite everything John McEnroe won it big especially at Wimbledon and at the US Open which are the two major titles that he won during his career.

Talking about handling pressure back in his prime, McEnroe said, That’s a really tough one, and it’s a very interesting one. I had times where I felt like if I ever like win Wimbledon, I’ll never go back, I can’t handle the pressure. It was overwhelming, and that was 40 years ago. Maybe it’s more magnified because of social media, there’s more money and expectations.”

“When you are trying to be the best at any sport, it’s tough to get it right. You’re being hunted more as the top guy. But I was definitely feeling that towards the end of the year. After 84, I was feeling in some ways, off the court happier but on the court, it wasn’t happening as easily.”

It seemed like John McEnroe was under pressure but the American icon made it big in the end and is regarded as one of the best players of his generation now and a formidable opponent in his prime.
