Cameron Norrie is a British professional tennis player who has reached career-best rankings of world No. 10 in singles and No. 117 in doubles. He has four ATP Tour singles titles and one doubles title. Norrie has been the British No. 1 in men’s singles since 18 October 2021. The current world No. 11 has a 135-101 win-loss record in the ATP tour, Grand Slam main draw matches and Davis Cup matches altogether.

The 26-year-old’s best result in the grand slams came this year when he reached the semi-finals of Wimbledon after beating David Goffin in the quarter-finals. But his great run ended in Wimbledon because of Novak Djokovic’s comeback in the semi-finals after losing the first set against the Englishman.

Cameron Norrie is set to lead the Team Great Britain in the Davis cup’s group matches which will be held between 13th-18th September. Great Britain has won the Davis Cup title 10 times, but they had to wait almost 80 years before their most recent accomplishment. Andy Murray’s devotion and responsibility were key to this long-awaited victory in 2015.

“I won’t change anything, I don’t feel any different. I like the atmosphere, I like playing for more than just yourself. You are playing for your country, which I cannot wait to do again. I am looking forward to a good crowd as well – Innsbruck last year, there wasn’t a lot going on. It wasn’t a true Davis Cup feeling. I am looking forward to playing at home, playing in front of a full crowd and having my team shouting there. We can all use that to our advantage.” Said, Cameron Norrie, Team Great Britain leader.

After missing out on the final in 2019, Great Britain had to settle for the quarter-finals. In 2021, GBR Team lost to Germany by a narrow 76, 76 in the doubles. With Cameron Norrie at No.1 and Dan Evans at No.2, Leon Smith’s men finished top of Group C (ahead of France and the Czech Republic) but fell short against the Germans in a hard-fought clash in Innsbruck. Great Britain has been selected alongside Serbia as one of the two direct wild card nations for the 2022 Finals.
