Recently tournament director Feliciano Lopez came to ‘La Pizarra de Quintana’ to discuss the details regarding the tournament happening in the Spanish capital. The former player wants everyone to feel comfortable at the tournament and wants them to come back for many more years.

“At the player level, what we want is for them to feel comfortable and loved so that they want to come back for more years. For people, this is a social event. The idea is that everyone feels part of the tournament, and I think that we have achieved,” Lopez shared.

Lopez highlights how stalwarts like Paula Badosa and Rafael Nadal are very good for Spanish tennis and both of them will be in action at the Spanish capital. The former player also lauded the rise of Spanish youngster Carlos Alcaraz. “We have Paula Badosa and Nadal among many others. In addition, this is one of the most special editions in recent years for various reasons, although the first of all is the absence of Manolo Santana.”

“Organizing all this takes a long time. We are already thinking about things for next year. I think that Spanish tennis is in an incredible moment and we are very excited that Rafa is here with us. I have hopes in that we can see him 100% on Wednesday. It’s a joy to have someone like Carlos Alcaraz in Spanish tennis,” Lopez concluded.
