After she dropped the retirement truth bomb revealing at playing her final matches at the US Open, she received a great welcome at the Arthur Ashe stadium where fans thronged in huge numbers to see the champion play for the very last time.

She received a standing ovation and was in tears during her emotional on-court farewell amid fans who were in all support of the legend. She had not performed well in the hard-court matches that led up to the US Open managing to win only one out of the four matches she played. Even though it was her final Grand Slam event, her inconsistent performance was a bit of concern as she had less practice time. She is an inspiration for millions of people around the world and had played a major role in taking women’s tennis to new heights.
