Novak Djokovic is into the first final of the year, 2022. Djokovic was having the worst start since forever, including a controversial disbarment and departure at the Australian Open, a quarterfinal loss in Dubai, and a first-round exit at the Monte-Carlo at the hands of the debutant and the eventual runner up Alejandro Davidovich Fokina.
Djokovic then geared up to play the Serbia Open 2022, a title he has previously won two times, with the support of the home crowd, he has got a massive confidence boost surviving the tough moments in the tournaments against many veterans including the compatriot Laslo Djere, and Karen Khachanov. He has entered his first final of the year and he will look to win the event as an announcement of his comeback. He faces a tricky opposition though, the world number 8, Andrey Rublev.

Andrey Rublev is an amazing young talent. He has been ranked as high as world No. 5 in singles, and he also holds an Olympic gold medal, winning the mixed doubles event with Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova at the 2020 Summer Olympics. Rublev has won 10 ATP Singles titles and this is his 3rd singles final of the year 2022. He has won the previous two finals and would look toward the Serbia Open trophy with a lot of desire to keep his 100% final record for the year.
A win over the world number 1, would boost his confidence with French Open less than a month away. Rublev has correctly assessed the situation saying, “It’s Novak’s moment.” He is the one playing in front of the home crowd and writing a successful resurgence story. “I have nothing to lose. The best I can do is fight, I will try to give my best.”
The final at the Belgrade will be ab interesting match as Novak Djokovic aims to find his rhythm on the clay gets on with the clay season with a tournament win. Andrey Rublev would fancy making an upset.
