“It’s like Serena peak,” Rennae Stubbs believes Alycia Parks has one of the best serves among the current players
Former doubles world No.1 believes Alycia is the true successor to Serena Williams

Stubbs and Parks
The 51-year-old, Rennae Stubbs praises the young Alycia Parks and believes that she will be the true successor to the legendary Serena Williams. Alycia is a 22-year-old American who is coming up the ranks recently with her stunning performances. Stubbs believes that she has one of the most powerful serves among the current players which is as good as Serena’s serve.
Parks made her WTA main-draw debut in the year 2021 at MUSC Health Open in Charleston. She soon came into the limelight by equaling the fastest serve speed by a woman with Venus Williams (129mph). She also had some big wins against players like Karolína Plíšková, Maria Sakkari, and Caroline Garcia. In 2022, she won her first WTA doubles title and in 2023, she won her first singles WTA title very recently at the Lyon Open.
The Australian coach speaking in the podcast after the recently concluded Lyon Open said “She’s won like 15 matches in a row indoors, so she plays great indoors. Her serve is, I’m telling you when they’re coming at me, I’m on. Oh my god, it’s like Serena peak, that’s how good her serve is when it goes in. I’m telling you she’s a potential top-10 player within the next 12 months. She’s got to keep obviously the body healthy. She’s a strong girl, a strong, strong girl.”
However, there are a lot of young prospects who rose all of a sudden and are now nowhere in the picture. Players like Emma Raducanu made a strong impact after winning her first Grand Slam title at a very young age. But unfortunately, she couldn’t convert that title into many more. Alycia being very young has a lot of potential to become a top player provided she doesn’t get injured often.

Alycia Parks stuns Caroline Garcia to win her maiden WTA title

The unseeded Alycia Parks stunned the entire tennis world by winning her first WTA title recently. She defeated the top seed, Caroline Garcia in straight sets 7-6(9-7), 7-5. Garcia had no answers to her powerful serves that were coming like bullets. Alycia hit 15 aces in this match and announces her mark on the big stage. She won the tournament by just losing two sets throughout.
Many experts including Stubbs believe that she will soon enter into the top 10 if she can continue such performances. America keeps producing these young prodigies right from Naomi Osaka, Coco Gauff and now Alycia Parks. However, with Naomi being pregnant, Parks has the best opportunity to be the true successor of Serena Williams.
