“It’s not about playing beautifully or hitting hard” Rafael Nadal says whoever wins is the most talented
Rafael Nadal
Rafael Nadal, this year’s Wimbledon Semi-finalist was looking phenomenal as he dominated almost all of his opponents. The 35-year-old, who is the reigning French Open champion had to withdraw from the semi-finals of Wimbledon after suffering an abdominal tear injury after the first set in the quarter-finals against Taylor Fritz. Rafa later went on to win the game in the final set by tie-breaker which booked the semi-finals berth for the Spaniard.
This year’s Australian Open and French Open champion is set to feature in the upcoming Montreal Masters, starting on August 5th is looking in great shape after the injury. The latter was seen twice, dancing in nightclubs and enjoying his time after his setback at the All England Club. He was also seen on the golf course where he took his Tennis Academy golf team to first place.
For me the summary is clear, whoever wins has the most talent: Rafael Nadal
During a recent interview granted to the Spanish airline Iberia, in which he speaks quite largely about his Academy in Mallorca, Nadal spoke about the concept of talent where the special simply explained whoever wins has the most talent.
“Talent is something that people confuse a bit, I think. For me, it’s not about playing fully or hitting the ball hard. Some have the talent to hit hard, some to never miss a ball, some to make a great cut and some to move very well, but in tennis, as in any sport, the ultimate goal is to win. For me, the summary is therefore clear: whoever wins is the one who has the most talent. At the Academy, we try to promote the qualities of each player to highly talents so that they can achieve their goals,” said Nadal.
The Spaniard is known for winning and is currently sitting on top in the tally of having the grandest slam titles ahead of his counterparts, Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer. In the upcoming US Open, the 35-year-old will be having another shot at the grand slam which could be his 23rd if he wins and make his lead bigger after Novak deduced it after winning Wimbledon.
Rafael has a clear chance because there is uncertainty that Federer will play in the US Open because he is still recovering whereas Djokovic could miss out because of his unvaccinated status. Alexander Zverev is also doubtful in what will clear the field a little more for the Spaniard who will be aiming for his 3rd major of the season.
