Great Britain’s one of the finest, Jack Draper, had big hopes for himself at the start of the year but saw his stint come to a serious halt when he suffered a disastrous shoulder injury midway through the year. 

This injury saw him go out of the highly anticipated Wimbledon Championships, but he left the entire world in shock after his performances at the recently played UTS Grand Competition.

Draper not only ended up beating World No. 8 Holger Rune in the finals on Sunday but also landed the biggest paycheque of his entire career. He won a whopping sum of over £430,000 after emerging victorious in the competition.

Despite the UTS Grand having a whole different scoring system compared to the old traditional tennis format, Draper received a lot of appreciation after beating the likes of Casper Ruud and Rune on the way to the title.

The Brit might consider him one of the luckiest guys on the planet after having won almost equal to the amount of prize money that he has managed by playing all year long.

From January to November, he earned prize money of about $737,907, and by playing for the last three days at the UTS Grand Tournament, he ended up earning $546,800.

How has Jack Draper fared this year?

Jack Draper started the 2023 season with great pump and show, making it to the semi-finals of the Adelaide International 2 competition, losing to Kwon Soon-woo. 

Next up, he made it to the round of 16 at the Indian Wells Masters, retiring midway through his match against Carlos Alcaraz. He also made it to the quarter-finals of the Lyon Open, the Mouilleron Le Captif Challenger, and the Winnipeg Challenger.

At the US Open, he won a couple of matches before finally bowing out of the competition at the round of 16 stage against Andrey Rublev. His breakthrough came at the Bergamo Challenger, where he beat the likes of Brandon Nakashima, Billy Harris, and David Goffin to lift the title. 

That’s not all; he also recently made it to the finals of the Orleans and Sofia Challengers, losing both times.
