Novak Djokovic has not only lost the Wimbledon finals to Carlos Alcaraz but also a lot of respect from the sports community, as per the reports coming up on the list of legends who have come up against the Serbian for his racket abuse and antics during the finals. A packed Wimbledon crowd was largely behind his opponents, throughout the tournament. It was nothing new for the 7-time champion, but he had lost his cool during crucial moments of the match against the Spanish World No.1 player.

According to Jackie Stewart, an icon in F1, it was not a good gesture by the Serbian not to apologize for his racket abuse during the finals. As per him, “That was a mistake. He should have apologized for that in his speech.”

A lot of legends, as well as the overall tennis community, were strong in criticizing the Serbian for his “boyish” acts despite playing his 35th Grand Slam final. It was only days back that Novak Djokovic’s father had to reply to a journalist who called the Serbian, “Loser of All Time“, by becoming the player to lose the most number of Grand Slam finals. Novak Djokovic holds the record for the most number of Grand Slam final losses

With the loss against Carlos Alcaraz, Serbian World No.2 Novak Djokovic now holds an unwanted record too – He has lost his 12th Grand Slam final now, the most by any player in the open era. Rafael Nadal is the player who beats him most in finals, 5 times. Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka were able to defeat him twice in the finals.

Daniil Medvedev, Roger Federer, and Carlos Alcaraz are the other players to defeat him in a Grand Slam final. All these players have beaten him once in the finals. It is also interesting to note that Djokovic was never able to beat Wawrinka and now Alcaraz in a Grand Slam final yet. Apart from these two, he holds a losing head-to-head in the Major finals against his greatest rival Rafael Nadal too, 4-5.

Djokovic has lost the most number of major finals in the US Open – 6 times. He has never lost in an Australian Open final yet. In Wimbledon, he has lost his second final this year. In French Open, he has lost 4 finals-3 against Nadal and one against Wawrinka.
