Novak Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, took to Instagram to express her happiness over the World No. 2’s win against Carlos Alcaraz at the Cincinnati Open. The final was the longest ATP Masters final, lasting for a full 3 hours and 49 minutes. The Serb won the clash 5-7, 7-6(7), 7-6(4) as he saved a championship point in the exhilarating match.
His wife had before joked that he keeps on defeating younger opponents, which makes her feel old. However, more interestingly, she has now poked fun at how his late-night matches keep her up till 3 a.m., ultimately ruining her sleep schedule. She posted a photo on Instagram of her looking tired at work, indicating that she was up until late supporting her husband. She wrote, “When you don’t sleep and celebrate at night, it’s like this during the day. Come on! We like it that way.”
She further added that her husband’s different time zones make her look disheveled in the morning. However, she also added that she and the rest of the Nolefam (Djokovic’s fans) wouldn’t have it any other way. Her caption read as follows: “When Novak plays in a different time zone and finishes a match at 3 a.m., this is what a work day looks like.
We #Nolefam know the drill, and we wouldn’t change it for the world! Right?” She ended her caption by praising her husband’s win with a “bravo” and the Serbian slogan “idemo”.
