Former American tennis star Jennifer Capriati, who was known for her impressive gameplay, ended her career in the rather disappointing way possible. She was involved in controversies right from the start of her career. 

While Capriati was a great young talent who had the potential to beat even the best in the game, she was too young for her opponent at times, and it’s said that it was her father who pushed her to compete so young.

Stefano Capriati was known to be a ‘pushy parent’. However, despite everyone labeling Jennifer Capriati’s father a villain, the American ace loved him. It has been over nine years since Stefano Capriati passed away after battling cancer, but there are still talks about him.

The latest conversation about Jennifer Capriati’s father took place during the first day of 2024 Indian Wells. Former American tennis player Lindsay Davenport slandered Capriati’s father as she compared him with Mary Pierce’s and Jelena Dokic’s fathers, who were known to be abusive. 

This did not sit well with Capriati who shared a post on social media that criticized Davenport for defaming her father.

Jennifer Capriati, who prefers to stay away from social media, took to X to slam Lindsay Davenport for her comments about Stefano Capriati. The former World No. 1 said that she was hurt to hear such slandering of her father while she still grieves his death.

Capriati also shared an emotional post where she declared that her father was the most supportive, kind, and beautiful father a daughter can ask for. 

I can’t believe what I just heard being said about my father. I can’t let my father’s memory be slandered any longer. My father was the most loving, kind, supportive, beautiful father a daughter could ask for. He was adored and loved by everyone.
Jennifer Capriati wrote on X.

Capriati did not look pleased about Davenport comparing her father with that of Mary Pierce and Jelena Dokic.

I grieve my father’s passing to this day, and to hear his memory and character be assassinated and compared to Pierces, Dokics father is outrageously false, and defamatory. @LDavenport76 Ive heard this several times now, and it’s shockingly hurtful and false.
Jennifer Capriati furher wrote.

Notably, at the time of writing, Lindsay Davenport has yet to respond to these posts from Jennifer Capriati. It is to be seen if the former American star apologizes for hurting Capriati’s sentiments or if it will be slipped under the rug.
