American World No. 3 Jessica Pegula bursts out at the WTA and the French Open for not scheduling women’s matches at night. She also pointed out that she is disappointed with not being able to see any changes despite complaining about the same in the player’s council.

As Pegula said, “I’m on the WTA players’ council & this issue has been raised a lot. Last year there was 1 women’s night match. We spoke to organizers about it. That makes this year more disappointing because we tried to address it. We haven’t seen an improvement.”

The American World No. 2 doubles team of Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula has reached the doubles semi-finals of the French Open 2023. Despite both the top-10 singles players failing to score big in their individual events, the American pair has played great tennis to reach their second consecutive Frech Open semi-final.

Last year, the iconic duo fell in the finals of the French Open against the Caroline Garcia-Kristina Mladenovic duo after winning the first set in three sets: 6-2, 3-6, 2-6. The pair also reached the Australian Open semi-finals this year before losing to the eventual runners-up of the tournament. The Japanese duo of Shuko Aoyama and Ena Shibahara defeated them straight then.

This year, in the last four of the French Open, they will play against the Canadian-American duo of Leylah Fernandes and Taylor Townsend. The American pair will be trying to win their first-ever Grand Slam title this year.
