The American player Jessica Pegula showed her playful side following her early exit from the China Open by taking on a fun ring throw challenge. The tennis star played the ring challenge in Beijing while the China Open was underway.
The ring toss challenge is a fun and simple game often found at amusement parks, carnivals, or other entertainment venues. The world No.4 had to put rings on different toys to win them. She surprisingly excelled at it as she made most of the shots. The 29-year-old was delighted to hear that she performed the best in this game.
Pegula retweeted a video of her playing the game with the caption “the highlight of Beijing“. She was poking fun at her performance on the court.
The American star was defeated by Jelena Ostapenko in the second round of the China Open in straight sets. Pegula managed to get only 51% of her first serves in. Pegula was about to equal the game at 5-4 with a 40-40 on her serve. However, Ostapenko dominated from the baselines and took the first set. In the second set, the Latvian was already leading by 3-0 and finished the match in 78 minutes.
Jessica Pegula prepares for the Korea Open
Jessica Pegula is gearing up for the upcoming Korea Open which is a thrilling event on the WTA tennis calendar. It’s a WTA-250 event where the world No.4 will be the top seed. She will be facing the Slovak tennis player Viktoria Hruncakova in her first round which will take place on 10th October.
Pegula is known for her aggressive style of play and strong forehand. However, the Slovak has a more defensive style of play. The only similarity between the two is that both of them are baseline players and have great groundstrokes. Nonetheless, the American is more versatile in her game and approaches the net more than Hruncakova. She is more experienced at the court and boasts a world ranking of 4.
