American women’s tennis ace Jessica Pegula turned consultant for former ATP star Andy Roddick as the latter sought suggestions on the best rackets in the market. Roddick, who is still the last American men’s tennis player to win a Grand Slam title, said he is looking to change his racket and hence sought suggestions on social media about the best racket in the market.

Roddick said that he has not switched rackets in over 25 years and has not bought a new racket in the past 12 years. Hence, he sought suggestions before he could make a switch. Jessica Pegula was prompt to reply as she commented under Roddick’s post.

Pegula recommended the racket she uses herself. The American ace said that it is a really good racket as far as her experience is concerned.

Yonex ezone is what I use and it is just a really good racquet
Jessica Pegula replied under Andy Roddick’s post.

Notably, Andy Roddick used a Babolat Pure Drive racket during his playing days. While he switched rackets throughout his career, Roddick always used Babolat rackets.

Will Andy Roddick and Jessica Pegula partner up?

While Jessica Pegula was the one advising Andy Roddick on which rackets to pick, the former American ace might become Pegula’s permanent adviser going forward. After Jessica Pegula split with her long-time coach David Witt, the former World No.3 is on the hunt for a perfect coach for herself and Roddick might be on her list.

Pegula is known for her struggles with servers and Roddick had one of the best serves in tennis. Hence, a partnership might be on the cards between the two Americans. There have been rumors about Pegula working under the guidance of Roddick.

Talking on the Tennis Channel Live Podcast, Jimmy Arias revealed that Pegula recently took some pointers from the Grand Slam champion.

The serve was the thing she wants to work on the most. And I spent a couple of days with her and then she ended up calling Andy Roddick as well. FaceTime to watching her serve and giving his pointers. It was interesting for me to hear Andy as well.
Jimmy Arias revealed.

It is to be seen if this small session leads to a full-time coaching role for Roddick or if Pegula looks elsewhere while she still searches for her maiden Grand Slam title.
