Tennis has been an evolutionary sport, changing with the generations. From Andre Agassi to Roger Federer, and now to Carlos Alcaraz, the game has come a long way.

Even the tennis legend Jimmy Connors believes the same, as he hailed the other legends of the game who have paved the path of tennis.

He took a strong jab at the younger generation for not knowing about the players who have paved the way for many players in the sport.

It is a pretty amazing story if you wanna sit down and try to understand what it’s meant, you know, for these guys to get to this point. And to be honest with you, I think these guys don’t know who the FK anybody is. I hate to say that, you know, but I wonder If you come up with, let’s say, you know who Bobby Riggs is, you know who Tony Trabert is, do you think they know? That’s an interesting story.
Said Connors on his podcast episode.

Despite being one of the oldest people in the sport, Connors remembers the players before him, who passed the baton on, and how they started the growth of tennis, which has continued for many generations.

He also mentioned the names of Bobby Riggs and Tony Trabert as some of the yesteryears that the youngsters do not know about.

You know, the guys who made it, made all this happen. You know, way before me. It started a way a long time ago, way before Sampras, way before. This is been going on and growing for a long time, and you know the history of this game, and what the players went through to keep this party going. You know, that’s the only way I can say it, You know what they did, you know, to hand it off to me, hand it off to Sampras.
Said Connors on his podcast.

There is no argument that the past of tennis has revolutionized the sport, and handing it down to generations, it is time for the next-gen players to carry it on.

Though there have been many comparisons made between the young players and the old ones, the game was different back then, and players are more developed nowadays.
