French tennis player Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is regarded as one of the top talents back in the day who, in his day, had the potential to go head-to-head against the ‘Big-3’.

Many regard him as the unluckiest player in the sport and also feel that hadn’t he been born in the same era as Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer, he would have stacked up a couple of Slams before the end of his career.

In a recent interview with GDIYpodcast, the Frenchman spoke about tennis players trying to party hard despite being in the midst of their professional careers.

He talked about how he has watched all of the top athletes, including Nadal and Djokovic, have big parties during tours, which Tsonga even disapproved of. He feels that it is okay to have fun from time to time, but there should be fixed timing for these events and they should not coincide with the season calendar.

Is it possible to have big parties and have fun when you're a professional? Seriously, maybe I shouldn't say it, but seriously… I've seen them all, don't let anyone tell me anything. Djokovic, Nadal... I've seen everyone.
Tsonga said
You just have to do it at the appropriate times, not during a tournament. It's not ideal, you have to be honest, but to keep up with tour over 40 weeks touring the world for 15 years, you have to have fun and enjoy from time to time.

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga’s numbers against the Big 3

Jo-Wilfried Tsonga was one of the very few players in the world who had defeated them while they were ranked as the World No. 1.

Although Tsonga wasn’t lucky enough to clinch a Grand Slam during their professional career, he was very consistent in making it to the later stages of the tournaments only to lose it out against the three legends.

Tsonga has racked up a winning percentage of about 28% against the three stars, and his 2008 Australian Open semi-final glory against Nadal is still remembered by every single tennis fanatic.

He has a win-loss record of 6-13 against Federer, 4-10 against Nadal, and 6-18 against Djokovic. Hadn’t injuries taken a big toll on his career, he would have made an even greater career out of himself.
