Emma Raducanu has been held back by injuries since she won the 2021 US Open. She had a stellar performance in that tournament. However, a hand injury forced her to withdraw from the Madrid Open. She is expected to be out with an injury for the next few months. Emma Raducanu will most likely miss the French Open as she had to undergo two surgeries in just three days. She is also likely to miss Wimbledon.

She encountered an ankle surgery this Friday and also a minor surgery on her right hand. She is set to have another surgery on her left hand in just over a week. Emma Raducanu recently posted on Twitter with a picture of her in the hospital with her hand plastered. The post also included a picture of a handwritten note saying, “It is safe to say the last 10 months have been difficult as I dealt with a recurring injury on a bone of both hands.”

The note further explained the situation of her injuries and how she had to opt for surgery to end her recurring injury problems. Emma Raducanu is going to be dropped out of the top 100 in the rankings after the Madrid Open tournament. Raducanu was expected to miss the US Open, too, but her social media posts and attitude suggest differently.

Former British No.1 Johanna Konta expressed her support for Raducanu. Konta thinks that she will absolutely play in the US Open if she is medically cleared to compete Johanna Konta also added that a player of Raducanu’s caliber should focus on getting back as soon as possible and not taking any extra time off just for the sake of it.

The most unexpected and goofy moment happened when Emma Raducanu was fooled into responding to made-up quotes from Carlos Alcaraz. She was quick to delete the tweet after realizing that she fell for a fake comment circulating on Twitter.

The fake quote being circulated included a picture of Carlos Alcaraz during an interview. “I want to dedicate this day to Emma Raducanu who had surgery today.“I wish her a very, very speedy recovery, she doesn’t deserve any of this. I wish she comes back fast on court and maybe play some mixed doubles, I always wanted that.”

Alongside a heart and a prayer emoji, Raducanu wrote: “@carlosalcaraz ‘yours’ :)” Although she was quick to remove her reply, some fans caught a screenshot of her falling for the false quotes.

Raducanu was made to believe that Carlos Alcaraz said this on his birthday. The fake quote circulation was quickly exposed without the issue being dragged any further.
