However, recently, McEnroe himself revealed his other side, the one who has been intimidated. In a recent interview, the tennis legend revealed that he was once intimidated by the number of fans his rival Bjorn Borg had.
I didn’t realize what Wimbledon meant except when I saw my guy, you mentioned my great rival, Bjorn Borg and I remember seeing him play a few matches when I was like 15 before I played there, and like hundreds of girls ran on the court. With that being said, although fans only knew the winning side of John McEnroe, he has now revealed the triggering point in his career that made him want to be one of the best in the game. Wimbledon was a catalyst for the then-youngster, who is now one of the legends of the game.
