Czech tennis is celebrating a great feat as four of its talented female players are ranked in the WTA Top-15. Karolina Muchova‘s joy is evident as she and Wimbledon winner Marketa Vondrousova both break into the Top 10, completing an amazing comeback from outside the Top 200 just a year ago.

Me and Marketa were last year outside of 200. Tomorrow, we’re both Top 10,” Muchova exclaimed. Evidently, her journey in Cincinnati was nothing short of incredible, with four hard-fought three-set victories. Although the outcome was not in her favor, Muchova’s week-long performance earned her a first-time WTA 1000 finalist title.

I’m really happy for her, for myself. Then there are another bunch of Czechs behind us. It’s nice to see that they’re doing great,” she reflected. The Czech tennis scene has exploded, with Vondrousova and Muchova rising to the top of the rankings as Czech No. 1 and No. 2, respectively. Petra Kvitova and Barbora Krejcikova, ranked 11 and 12, respectively, join them in the Top 15.
