Czech tennis sensation Karolina Muchova won her latest match against 30th seed Sorana Cirstea to reach her first US Open semi-final. With this exhilarating achievement, the 27-year-old Czech has mustered the support of many back in her home country. The Czech Republic will be rooting for Muchova as she plays the semis on Friday.

Citing her mental strength for her second set comeback, the Czech player in her post-game interview said, “I always feel that I’m pretty, I would say, tough cookie in life as well.”
In the on-court interview after her win over Cirstea, Muchova also talked about what tennis is like in Czechia since another Czech, Marketa Vondrousova, made it to the quarter-finals. “Big competition in Czech Republic. It’s tough. But we support each other. That’s very important,” the 27-year-old said.
She further told the reporter that she’ll be rooting for ninth seed Vondrousova for her quarter-final match against Madison Keys.“It’s just great that we can push one another,” she added. The World No. 10 will now face sixth seed Coco Gauff in the semi-finals.

Speaking about her upcoming semi-final face off with the sixth seed, Muchova said she’ll be enjoying her success for now and will put up a tough fight against Gauff. “She’s very athletic.
