In the on-court interview after her win over Cirstea, Muchova also talked about what tennis is like in Czechia since another Czech, Marketa Vondrousova, made it to the quarter-finals. “Big competition in Czech Republic. It’s tough. But we support each other. That’s very important,” the 27-year-old said.
She further told the reporter that she’ll be rooting for ninth seed Vondrousova for her quarter-final match against Madison Keys.“It’s just great that we can push one another,” she added. The World No. 10 will now face sixth seed Coco Gauff in the semi-finals.
