The US Open has just gotten interesting as the match between the Serbians is underway. Laslo Djere was playing magnificently against the world number 1 Novak Djokovic. Laslo got the audience on the edge of their seats, and Novak applauded him during the match. There was a lot of anticipation for this match as the battle of Serbs was going to be an exciting contest.

World number 38 Laslo got off to a magnificent start in the first round of the US Open, winning two sets in less than an hour against the returning champion. However, Djokovic once again proves why he is one of the best tennis players in the world as he won the next set pretty easily. Laslo had gotten off to a good start in the fourth set as he won a game, but Djokovic backed up his serve to tie up the game.

In the next game of the match, Laslo hit a perfectly-placed forehand down the line that Djokovic could not return, earning him the champ’s praise and a loud cheer from the audience. This was a very tight match, but this forehand from Laslo was so well executed that even Djokovic couldn’t help but smile and credit him for the shot. Both the players are playing with a raging fire in them and neither is backing down without a proper rally.

The decider set was nothing less of a finals as both players gave it their all but Djokovic pulls off another win to advance in the US Open. The power-packed game between the Serbs had the audience glued to the match. It had been a roller coaster of rallies and emotions, as neither one of them was ready to give in and lose the match. Both the players played their best tennis for over 3 hours and 45 minutes at the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

If Laslo had managed to win this contest, it could have been a huge upset. Djokovic however fought back to take the win after a tiring game. The 23-time Grand Slam title winner won the match 4-6, 4-6, 6-1, 6-1, 6-3 to advance to the fourth round of the US Open. He will now face Borna Gojo in the round of 16. If the champ continues to play well and win matches in the US Open, nothing can stop him from winning his 24th Major title.
