Latest ATP Rankings post the Wimbledon 2022: Rafael Nadal back in Top-3, Novak Djokovic drops to 7th

The Wimbledon 2022 concluded on Sunday, 10th July with Novak Djokovic defeating Nick Kyrgios in the finals of the men’s singles. The win for Djokovic gave him his record-extending 21st career Grand Slam title and his 7th Wimbledon title. For Kyrgios, it was a maiden Grand Slam final and he had to settle for the runner-up trophy as Djokovic showed his experience of the 28-match winning streak continuing at SW19 since 2017.

The tournament was very vital in terms of ranking updation as Novak was the defending champion this year. World No 1 Daniil Medvedev could not participate this year at the championship due to the ban on the Russian and Belarus players. Last year, he reached to the Round of 16. Even after not playing this year, he still reigns the No 1 position.

World No 2 Alexander Zverev could not play at the championship as he is still recovering from the injury he incurred at the semi-final match at Roland Garros. He is still in his position despite his absence this season. World No 3 Rafael Nadal had a great season this year till the quarter-final at Wimbledon after which he had to withdraw himself due to his abdominal injury. He has already won the Australian Open 2022 and French Open 2022.

Stefanos Tsitsipas is at the 4th spot while Casper Ruud is at the 5th spot just 100 points behind Tsitsipas. Carlos Alcaraz is in the 6th spot. Even after winning the Wimbledon 2022 title, Novak Djokovic dropped the 7th spot due to ATP removing ranking points from the tournament. He also could not defend his ranking points in the Australian Open 2022 and French Open 2022.
