Latest WTA Rankings post 2023 US Open: Aryna Sabalenka dethrones Iga Swiatek despite losing in the final, Coco Gauff reaches career-high ranking of No.3
The WTA rankings have experienced a massive shift.

The last Grand Slam of the year, the US Open, has finished successfully, with sixth seed Coco Gauff coming out as the victor. Gauff defeated second seed Aryna Sabalenka by a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. This was Gauff’s maiden Grand Slam title. As a result, the WTA rankings have experienced a massive shift.
And with it, the Belarusian has gained her career-high world No. 1 ranking. Adding 520 points to her already impressive tally, Sabalenka now has 9266 points to her name. The 25-year-old has overtaken Pole Iga Swiatek, who sits firmly in the second spot with 8195 points.
Due to her fourth-round exit, Swiatek has slipped a spot and sits at World No. 2 Jessica Pegula has slipped from her No. 3 spot. She is now World No. 5 with a deduction of 190 points. Coco Gauff has replaced her after her win and is now sitting in the 3rd spot with a surplus of 1570 and a total of 6165 points.
New WTA rankings post US Open
Multiple Grand Slam champion Victoria Azarenka won Wimbledon this year. Consequently, her WTA ranking has jumped three spots. She’s now ranked sixth in the world. Tunisian player Ons Jabeur has moved down two spots after her devastating defeats at Wimbledon and the US Open. She now sits in the seventh position. Karolína Muchová has risen two spots in the ranking with her semi-final run at the US Open. She has gained 770 points and has attained a ranking of 8th from her previous 10th position.
Despite her heartbreaking loss in the US Open semi-final, Madison Keys has experienced a massive climb. She was World No. 17 at the start of the tournament but has jumped 7 spots in the rankings and is now World No. 11.
Caroline Garcia has dropped 3 spots in ranking from the 7th position. She is at 10# with 3050 points.
