Novak Djokovic & Liam Broady
The tennis circuit seems to be drilling and in all prepared ahead of the US Open 2022, while Novak Djokovic fans on the other hand are dazed and furious in regards to the Serb’s latest participation ban from the championship due to his Covid-19 vaccine stance, an issue, Liam Broady stands in favour with firm feet.
The Serbian tennis star was handed down a complete ban from competing in the tournament recently by the US Open officials. The officials at the upcoming Grand Slam are firmly sticking to the advice of the federal government as declared. Novak, who was earlier banned from the Australian Open, in addition to an overall 3-year ban from Australia entirely due to his complete rejection of getting the vaccine now has one less count for support as Broady seems much irked regarding his stance for the same and has made it clear to Nole’s fans to be “reasonable” and “give it a rest.
I’m getting it in the neck: Liam Broady
The Britain tennis player, Liam Broady, who currently enjoys the British No. 5 rank, expressed his concerns earlier on players who leave their withdrawal status hanging till the last moment, hoping they’d get a free pass on the situation they’re tied up against or in this case Novak Djokovic’s vaccination stance. Criticizing his fans for the same, Liam isn’t the only one standing in favor of the US Open’s authorities.
Bashing tennis Twitter and fans, Broady went on to highlight the defects and demerits of players entering the Grand Slam over issues trivial and flagrant as such that they should be voided and nullified entirely which certainly speaks to his frustration on the topic. The 28-year-old lefty has to his mantle several wins including a boys’ doubles at Wimbledon.
Djoker, who’s been making the headlines in the past few days circling this issue has addressed the same by stating that he believes he has developed enough antibodies when he contracted the virus last year. “I believe things will change for the Australian Open. For the US Open, there is not much time, but hope dies last,” quoted the 35-year-old Serbian professional on his hopes to be allowed to compete in the Flushing Meadows championship.
