Lindsey Vonn, a former skier from America, was questioned by the fans for supporting Iga Swiatek and not her countrymate Jessica Pegula in the WTA Finals. After a commanding victory by the Pole, Iga Swiatek, the former skier, commented that she was happy for the Pole, eliciting a plethora of angry reactions from fans.

After an exciting couple of weeks of tennis in the WTA Finals, Jessica Pegula, who was undefeated throughout the tournament, lost to World No. 1 Iga Swiatek. However, she expressed her gratitude towards the winner and her team and thanked the Pole for pushing her to do better.
Ending the year No. 1, winning this tournament, it's really incredible, You know, you continue to push me to be a better player every single year, or at least, you haven't been on tour that long but so far since you've been on tour, and it really makes me a much better player and I really appreciate that aspect of it.Pegula said after the match.

She became the 6th youngest player to end as No. 1 for two years in a row and ends the year with an 11-match win streak.
