Wimbledon, the oldest tennis tournament and the only Grand Slam held on grass courts, will be held on June 27. The event will begin on June 27 for the higher-ranked players, and the qualification round for the lower-ranked players will begin on June 20. At Wimbledon 2022, 128 men and 128 women will compete for the singles crown.
After Australian tennis sensation Ashleigh Barty, who won the women’s singles title at Wimbledon 2021, announced her retirement from tennis earlier this year, a new champion will be crowned in the women’s draw. In the women’s singles event at Wimbledon 2022, Iga Swiatek is the top-seeded player. Home crowd favourite Emma Raducanu is also one of the top ten seeded at Wimbledon 2022. She will, however, need to rehabilitate from a previous injury. Besides this, Serena Williams, the seven-time Wimbledon winner, will compete as a wild card this year on the grass court.
