Italian World No.20 Lorenzo Musetti has chosen his “Greatest of All Time”. It is interesting that the Italian 21-year-old has given his opinion that Roger Federer is his GOAT after beating the Serbian World No.1 Novak Djokovic in the third round of the Monte Carlo Masters. Musetti’s win over the Serbian is considered to be the best of his career until now.

As the Italian told about Roger Federer, “My favorite player, for sure, is Roger Federer. He has always been a great inspiration to me. I would have loved to play against him but unfortunately, I didn’t have that chance. For me, Roger Federer is the greatest player of all time.”

Musetti looked great in Monte Carlo until the quarter-final match against the seventh seed Jannik Sinner where he lost in straight sets. His double bagel in the second round against Luca Nardi was a sign of the storm against the Serbian World No.1 Novak Djokovic in the third round. (Source : We Love Tennis, translated via Google)

Lorenzo Musetti will try to improvise in the rest of the clay season

The Italian has shown incredible form and confidence on clay, which is evident from his performances in the Monte Carlo Masters. His game has a unique blend of power and finesse, and he is not afraid to take risks and play attacking tennis. If he can maintain his form and execute his game plan to perfection, the rest of the clay season looks to be promising for the Italian.

The win against the Serbian World No.1 Novak Djokovic will be a huge confidence booster for him although the Serbian was not at his best with some poor service games overall. He was 0-3 against the Serbian until he beat the demons on the Monte Carlo Masters.

With Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz still sidelined due to injuries and Novak Djokovic struggling to get back on top in the clay season, the Italian will be a strong contender for big titles including the French Open if he can improvise on his performances in the initial rounds of Monte Carlo Masters.
