Lorenzo Musetti’s coach Simone Tartarini has made a bold prediction regarding Carlos Alcaraz‘s chances at Wimbledon this year. The Spaniard enters the Championships as the World No. 1, having reclaimed the top spot from Novak Djokovic recently. Alcaraz won the Queen’s Championships, which means that he enters his second consecutive Grand Slam as the top seed.
Simone Tartarini believes that Carlos Alcaraz has incredible skill and talent. He describes the youngster as a ‘Martian,’ however, he believes that Alcaraz will come up short against the Serbian great if they meet in the finals. The duo clashed against each other in the semifinals of the French Open earlier this month, where the Serbian came through in four sets.
“Alcaraz is a Martian and has an incredible ability to adapt. He is certainly not a “herbivore”, but the more he plays, the more he improves. I don’t think he can beat Nole, if they meet in the final at Wimbledon, but we’ll see,” said Simone according to Tennis Infinity.

Simone Tartarini picks Novak Djokovic as the outright favorite to claim fifth consecutive Wimbledon title
Djokovic will be chasing history at the Championships next month, as he looks to level Margaret Court‘s record of 24 Majors. The 36-year-old claimed his 23rd Grand Slam title at the French Open, as he defeated Casper Ruud in straight sets in the finals.
Adding to the conversation, Simone Tartarini picks Novak Djokovic as the outright favorite to claim the title. Moreover, winning the title on seven occasions certainly gives the World No. 2 an edge compared to his peers. “Djokovic favorite? Absolutely yes, after all, he has won the tournament seven times and he comes from the success in Paris. So, he’s definitely the player to beat,” he added.
The Serb will also look to level Roger Federer‘s tally of eight Wimbledon titles. He has won four consecutive Wimbledon titles and is undefeated at the tournament since 2018. The Serbian is also chasing a Calendar Slam, something which he missed out on by a whisker in 2021. With the Australian and French Open already under his belt, the 23-time Grand Slam champion is almost halfway there in terms of doing the unthinkable.
