The doping control team of Serbia has raised a lot of eyebrows after certain players, including Novak Djokovic, refused to follow the doping control terms and provide a doping test when asked during the Davis Cup

Before Serbia’s quarterfinal game against Great Britain, Novak Djokovic had refused to provide a urine sample in exchange for a blood sample, which triggered numerous reactions.

Recently, French cyclist Marc Madiot spoke about this matter and believes that Novak should be suspended for his actions.

We have the right to control before and after a competition. He refused the test before the competition. If the anti-doping body does its job, Mr. Djokovic must be suspended. He refused a test before the competition, he did one afterwards.

In the case of some products, the effect of the product wears off during the competition, and if you fail to test for the substance before the match, the traces fade off and detection cannot be possible. Djokovic’s refusal to provide a sample to the doping control team raised a few questions and has become a topic of discussion recently.

Novak Djokovic provides reasons for not cooperating with the Doping control team

Novak Djokovic has been amidst the doping controversy ever since he refused to provide a urine sample hours before his match against Britain. Later on, the Serb provides his reasons for not giving the test.

It’s the first time it’s happened to me. It doesn’t make sense to do it when I’ll be there after the match. They gave me an hour and a half’s notice. I have my pre-match routines and I don’t have to think at that point about donating blood or urine.

The selected teams were previously notified to provide samples when asked by the control team. Despite this, Djokovic refused, which raised suspicion about him and got people talking against him.

Previously, Serbia’s 2013 captain, Viktor Troicki, was banned for not providing a blood sample despite giving a urine sample. If the doping team looks at Djokovic’s case like that, even he was supposed to be under the radar and in line for a possible suspension.

It is yet to be seen what the Serbian team has to say about this and what calls they will make regarding Djokovic.
