The American tennis legend Martina Navratilova has once again condemned the abortion laws which has been instated across the United States of America. For context, the issue henceforth concerns a woman who had miscarriages in the past. She is being denied abortion by doctors because the stated laws forbid it.
Earlier, the Supreme Court of the United States of America in a majority decision gave the right to make laws on abortion and define its legality to the States. As a result, many states in the USA declared abortion illegal within their territorial jurisdiction.
Moreover, this woman from Idaho recorded her ordeal in a video and shared it on social media, eliciting a plethora of concerns regarding the laws online. The video is shared by an eminent writer Jessica Valenti on Twitter. As expected, as soon as the video was made public it instantly went viral, racking up over 1k likes in no time. Former professional tennis great Martina Navratilova also chimed in to provide her unfiltered take on the situation.

Earlier, abortion was a legal right in the USA. Women had the right to abort a pregnancy within the first 24 weeks of pregnancy. However, as soon as the decision of the Supreme Court was made public, many states immediately decided to make abortion illegal. Moreover, now, only a handful of states in the USA give this right to its inhabitants to abort the pregnancy. When the laws were being changed, The nine-time Wimbledon champion Martina Navratilova criticized the decision.
“Cruelty is the point. Also, what happens when older white male politicians make medical decisions that doesn’t affect them at all and actually kill women,” she had raised her voice.
